The Faces of South Dakota
This is my rendition of Mount Rushmore beneath an American flag colored sky. Made with all broken glass and finished with three hidden crosses.
This is one of my first pieces. I found an amazing old door with a removable window. I started with a lilypad and flower. Then the fish were added and surrounded by beautiful blue waters. My husband finished this pice off by hiding several coins which he "thew" into the waters. It's fun to try to locate all the money in the resin and wonder what he wished for!
The "Hiding Hen" was a piece originally done to adorn my in law's hunting lodge. It was done on a old church window and was created to hang between two large pillars on the deck. When we went to hang it, we realized we wanted something even bigger. So this one is now for sale and I will be working on one that is almost twice as long as this one.
Thy Word Is A Lamp Unto My Feet
"Thy Word Is A Lamp Unto My Feet" was inspired by one of my favorite Bilble verses. I have always loved the Bible verse and subsequent song by Amy Grant about the Lord's word being a way to light my path. Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." When I lose my way or am scared of the direction my life or the world in general is going, I look to the word of my God and Savior for comfort and guidance. His word is a beacon for those who are lost and for those who are seeking solace or comfort or safety. Just like the lighthouse provides a beacon for those at sea to come to a place where they can be safe from the storm and the winds that batter and threaten them.
Humming Bird Haven
This piece stands an impressive 84 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The window is one of two that I purchased from the Rehome store. This piece has 4 individual hummingbirds and numerous colorful flowers. The background is swirled with alcohol ink in shades of blue which give the allusion of being able to "see" the waves of breeze created by the delicate beating of the fragile wings of the hummingbirds.
Peace, Be Still
This piece reminds me of looking for the ray of golden light when the night is dark and the waters are deep and furious. Mark 4:39"...Peace, Be still." Even the wind and waves obey Him. What a great and loving God we have. He gives us hope in the depth of our despair and leads us beside still waters.
Beautiful Savior was a commissioned piece for a church. It measures 2 foot by 3 foot and is in a custom frame made by husband. I added real nails in Christ's hand and feet. This piece I finished just in time for their Ash Wednesday Service. This was such a moving piece to complete and I found myself in tears more than once wh
